Bought a 1998 RS Eclipse that has a built 420a motor in it. To my surprise - the original owner definitely knows how to take short cuts in a garage ;)

Here you can see the cross memeber where its connected to the core support where it was clearly grinded out or sawzalled out to allow aluminum tubing to pass for the intercooler

T'd off from the oil sending unit to lubricate the turbo (not a bad move - leaked like a siv)

Look at the exhaust from the down pipe.. Not only was their a clear exhaust leak? But this guy knuckled the damn thing 3 times with two different sleeves..

Another chunk hanging off on the front tire.. both passenger side.. and the walls of the rims are destroyed.. someone doesnt know how to drive and probably drove it like a AWD and not a FWD :p

And the transmission bracket that goes to the mount on the sub frame.. clearly was broken and if you look closely.. the 1 bolt that was in there.. wasnt threaded all the way and there is a stud snapped inside the transmission <.<

In the end - I am embarrassed to say that I had bought this car for 3500

As much as I would love to go take the 3 1/2 hour drive back to where I bought it from and beat the piss out of this guy for letting me drive home in a death trap.. He was deployed and wont be seeing him for a while ;) SO making the best of it - as I have always wanted a eclipse.. not a trash can..
 
Over the last 2 months.. I have fixed, replaced, upgraded quite a few things mechanically

Custom 2.5" Tubing for the entire turbo system
Going to end up retubing the tube from the intake manifold and just do a straight pipe as the battery will be moved to the trunk of the car

New brake system with Tokico Blue suspension all the way around with coil overs and adjustable cups on the shocks for easy adjustment for ride height :)

Only to find out that I have a bad wheel bearing / hub on the driver side.. SO I am sure once this is fixed.. Car will be sitting pretty :)

That rebuilt NV-T350 Trans with new syncros and upgraded 1st and 2nd gear for that launch at the green light! I mean >.> when I see some fart packing JDM sitting next to me and honey badger dont give a f*** about dem red n blues!

Haven't taken it to be tuned yet
Psi is set at 15lb

Short block is bored .20
JE 9:1 compression pistons
eagle H beam connecting rods
brand new re manufactured crank
king pro serious main and rod bearings
ARP main and rod bolts
ARP head studs
Cosmetic MLS head gasket
Brand new oil and water pump
Brand new timing belt all
block head has all machine work and port and polish work
head was to .17 thousandths
full port and polish
crower 2mm
oversized intake and exhaust valves
crowe titanium springs and retainers hahns 20 G turbo log type exhaust manifold 3 inch turbo back exhaust sfmu vortext fuel management unit
ford lightning 570cc gren top injectors walbro 255 iph fuel pump
5 speed transmission 2200 psi pressure plate luke s2 clutch

So today I have added

40.00 : New oil line for the turbo - 12" brake line
103.34 + 47.00 core : New alternator - bad charge system
78.00 + 20.00 core : New battery - dead cell
114.72 + 43.00 core : New starter - sylinoid stuck open and oil got into starter
10.00 : New fuses - replaced all fuses in fuse box :) a lot were missing
23.50 : Patched rear driver side tire - plenty of tread life and the hole was from a small nail
Self time : Repositioned cams and new timing belt
Self time : Replaced fuse in back of radio deck

All in all? About a 300.00 weekend of replacements.. Not even upgrades :p

You can see in this last photo how I wrapped it around the side of the block and down passed under the manifold to the sending unit :) so no more torquing the oil line and making the line brake and have one of these issues again

I just posted on your other thread. Unless you have another eclipse the one you have is not a spyder which through me off big time. I'm in phoenix in Mesa if you need some help. I've had my 420a for 4 years and know my way around. PM me maybe we can meet over the weekend.

Been bouncing it back and forth and I have the means to get by

But if I can get what I at least paid for the car? And not what I have in it? It's +1 for me

Shitty part on my end is. Is now working the few twerks that is left on the car it seems and it'll be another reliable boosted dsm on the road :) then I won't want to sell it
