98 Gst Whats Wrong With It?!?!?!?!?!?!!!?????

Hey guys PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE
I just recently purchased a 98 GS-T it runs good doesnt have problems until i get on it... then once i get on it for some reason it wants to bog out and doesnt wanna go anywhere. sometimes it also likes to cut off like i hit redline but im no where near that and when it doesnt hit redline my boost gauge spikes way past 25 psi and pins it self at the bottom of the guage... my check engine light also recently came on and when i got it checked out i was told that it was my TPS would this cause all of my problems????

Start with a boost leak test:

Are you talking about the stock boost gauge or an aftermarket one? The stock one isn't accurate.(edit: I don't know what I was thinking)

ya its stock eveything is stock i havent put ne thing on it but wen i put it there is a tyle bov i was told and its some knock off tho.

It can be anything from a boost leak to a plugged cat if no leaks check your cat.

Start with learning to spell. There's no way you can boost to 25 without some sort of mod. Now when you say tyle do you mean TIAL? Also what's the code on the CEL?

If your hitting 25PSI I would recommend checking all the vacuum lines and possibly testing the wastegate actuator. Be careful, it sucks blowing your engine!

I was wondering were he got 25psi from if its a stock boost gauge? (there are no numbers on 2g gauge faces)

if you are hitting 25 psi, then that redline feel your feeling is fuel cut. check to see if you have a manual boost controller(maybe when you got it, he never told you,) also check your plugs, and report back.

the guy that you purchased the car from; did he tell you that the car was stock? or are you assuming...

Thanks for everything from everyone this is my first DSM so its gunna take me some time to figure everything out. Im gunna try what everyone suggested and ill let you guys no what happens thanks again

I agree!! And i hope its not stock and your running 25psi..plus i dont think a stock turbo can go that high.. my buddy haves a 14b on his focus and it max it will run is 10psi

is your BOV recirced, i dont think TIAL's can be recirced...but none the less make sure your recirculating...you can find a good 1g bov pretty cheap these days...
