2G 98 Eclipse heater will not work

So now that it's getting colder I want to use my heater but here's the thing my engine does not reach temperature on the cold and so the heater will not work. My car stays cool in the summer so what could that be is it the thermostat?

Most likely your thermostat is stuck open had the same problem from my 1g a few years ago. Check your coolant level also if its low then it will get air into the system and will not circulate propely. Hope that helps

Ya the coolant level is topped off so it's gotta be the thermostat right

Check your thermostat. I can bet it's probably stuck open. Replace it and you should be good to go

What's a good thermostat to buy because it's so cold here is ther a specific range in Celsius

Do I need a new gasket

Yes, anytime you remove something with a gasket get a new one, don't reuse. Also use an RTV sealer on both sides of the gasket.

You may have a blocked heater core. My gf has no thermostat in her 95awd talon. It heats up just fine.

Sounds like your heater core isnt getting circulation. Or your door isn't opening.

process of elimination, I'd start with thermostat since its easy and cheap. then run car and see if its fixed.
