Not sure if it applies to you but I the E3 16g and I can't get it past 8-9 psi with out hit fuel cut. I believe I have a boost leak though. Checking it as we speak ;) Do your self a favor and save up for ECMLink. I know I am!! You'll sqeeze a lot more out your set up and have fewer headaches

I can barely understand what you are saying.

You bought a GST two months ago, that was all stock minus a blitz blow off valve that had 128k miles? Then you blew the head gasket, replaced it and then did some mods?

I think you are saying you did a tubular manifold, some SMIC hard pipes, a o2 housing, a 3 inch exhaust, and a POS ebay 16g?

Well, you wasted money if that's the case. Those ebay turbos are shit, and your tubular manifold is only going to either break or bake the paint off your hood. The o2 may or may not actually be helpful as I don't know anything about it.

With out tuning I'd stick to 10-11 PSI on a 16g, you should at least get a walbro 190lph fuel pump and some evo injectors. You need a tuning option as well, I'd personally go with a ECMlink V3

Those will help you make some real power on a 16g but I'd personally Craigslist that turd and buy a real MHI 16g from someone on here. Used, good condition 16g turbos go from 275-350 typically depending on if they are a small, big, or evo 3.

If that turbo hasn't failed by now, I'm sure it will very soon.

I forgot to mention, you should also try to get a ported 16g since your 3 inch exhaust is probably going to cause horrible horrible boost creep.

I would recommend that you stay at stock boost levels until you start to upgrade your fuel system and get some sort of tuning management.

The amount of boost you can run depends on the supporting mods you have. The reason most give an average number of around 15psi is that when you up the boost, the fuel needs to increase too. When you put a bigger turbo on, you will have more airflow per psi and will quickly overrun the stock fuel pump and injectors. When you overrun them, you don't "blow" them. You will run lean and risk blowing your motor. I would focus on upgrading your fuel system before turning up the boost any more.

Yes, as stated above you made a mistake with the ebay 16g. No big deal, lesson learned(or will be when it blows). I would not go over 10psi of boost. Now that being said you DO have an ebay 16g which means its flow is probably quite a bit lower than a real MHI. In turn this means its possible to go higher in boost before fuel cut. This is speculation as i havent seen a flow chart for an ebay 16g. So, to use good judgement: only go to 10psi and save up for dsmlink then go through the upgrade path.

edit, Like gusu said as well: Port the hell out of the o2 housing and the wastegate hole on the turbo hot side. I dont think youll have much boost creep cause your still on a very restrictive downpipe though.

Yeah, I totally missed covering the turbo actually failing. When that happens (You have a VERY high chance that it will and will soon) you are going to have bits of debris being pushed through your intercooler and if you are lucky they will get stuck in there, but they will probably be sucked into your motor causing some kind of damage.

Thanks guys I know I messed up by buying an eBay turbo I'll leave it on 11 psi intill I get a dsmlink then save up an get a evo 16 g turbo thanks a lot guys
