Has anyone used one of these or have any comments/would you recommend one? I've been looking for a small 16g but found one of these for a good price. I have a 14b right now so from what I've read it sounds like this is a direct swap. Any info will be greatly appreciated

if you wanna use it as a temp turbo because yous is bad and you wanna little bit more power, I say go for it. I have one fir now with about 4500 maybe 5000 miles on it with no problems. But remember you do get what you pay for, I have just been lucky with mine. But good luck. As far as swap if you already have the 14 on their seeing as how you have a 2nd gen you already have the install kit. So yes its a direct swap for you.

Once you start pushing one of those knock off turbos is when you start running into problems, assuming it s not smoking right outta the box.
Honestly if your 14b is in good working condition you would be money ahead sticking with it.

If your looking for 16g power reliably buy mhi you wont have it with a knock off for long if at all.

not sure why you'd spend so much for a car, supporting mods, etc. and then skimp out on the turbocharger, especially when you can get used MHI turbos cheap. but if you have your heart set on a chinese turbo, corky bell/bell engineering have started using chinachargers on their low-end turbo kits, so I'd probably hit them up and inquire where they are sourcing theirs from. I imagine they wouldn't put their reputation on the line for products that are entirely junk.

Or you could talk to Justin(jusmx) about converting your 14b into a 20g. Its not very expensive.
Not a wise idea.

MHI 20G compressor = $120
Rebalance rotating assembly = $50ish
Machine cover and center housing = $125ish
Rebuild labor and parts = $150
New 7cm turbine housing = $225

= $670.

You're better off starting with a Big 16G which wouldn't need the center housing machined and already has a 7cm turbine housing.

Mixed results. But it is just a cheap ass 16g turbo. You can get them for like 200 shipped on ebay with gaskets and shit.

Some have had it last, most have not.

I have a 14b/16g hybrid. You could always do that....but it would still be a better idea to just flat out buy a MHI EVO III
