I have a question does anyone know where i can get a custom 6bolt racing engine for my 97 eclipse gsx awd automatic? the reason why is because im not to sure of boostin my 2.0 4g63 7bolt engine because ive heard not to good with power. What is the max power that it can hold before breaking down for the 7bolt?

Collazo is your last name? And you should do some reading but a well maintained and knowledgeably modded 7 bolt can make good power. What are your goals? After you do your maintenance you can get ~300whp on these cars relatively easily with just bolt on mods and still have a considerable amount of reliability if done right.

Have you tried reading through the upgrade paths posted on here? They have a ton of great information for wherever you want to go with your build.

Here are some of my goals to see what you guys think of it i got a 35-45k engine and rebuild transmission so im thinking if i can't get the 7bolt swap for 6bolt then im going to start my project.

engine
1.aem engine management system
2.gauges aem tru boost gauge, water and oil
3.cxracing 20g turbo kit
4.650 injectors if needed
5.better fuel pump and lines
not sure of leaveing everything els stock on my
engine? any suggestions please fill free.

transmission
1.high stall torque converter
2.ipt complete built transmission
3.racing tcase

looking around 300hp prefer 500hp

So you are going to drop a grand on aem ems, but you want to run a cheap pos chinese turbo. You have a lot of research to do, and I am willing to bet that it won't be spoon fed to you.

+1,000,000.

You want 500awhp through an auto awd? With 650cc injectors and a chinese 20G turbo?

You planning to stuff an LSx under the hood or something?

Why bother with an AEM? ECMlink would be the way to go, or the Black Box route. Unless you have a full race car i dont see any reason to run an AEM. Unless youre running a car with no other real options.
true but do you really know how much hp can a stock engine 4g63 2.0 7bolt can really handle before breaking down on me cause im really just trying to run it with 300hp or 350hp

Around 400-450 or so is about what people typically stick to. You can NOT have any issues with the tune, any bit of detonation at all will kill stock pistons and/or rods. You'd definately want ARP head studs for that though, the stock ones arent very strong. As long as you have the proper supporting mods (injectors, fuel pump, regulator, etc) it'll be fine.

thanks for the tips its good to get tips from other 2g owners. By any chance have you installed a high torque converter on your 2g? Cause thats what i am looking to install in my car ipt transmission high torque converter.

I wouldnt recommend doing that unless you very specifically know what torque your engine is outputting. Torque converters stall speeds are torque based, not power based, or set at a specific RPM. So a stock stall might be higher on an engine producing more torque.

To start, I would look at this page: http://kiggly-racing.com/valvebody . Do the modifications he recommends. I would start with the Translab shift kit and the mods he details in that guide. For the pressure adjustments on the valve body you can max them out. Look up the blue wire mod on at-dsm.com as well, you can actuate it with ECMlink so that it still shifts at part throttle yet has full clamping at WOT.

Look at a converter after you do all that, because keeping the transmission from slipping and shifting properly is the most important thing. Also look into a larger transmission cooler at some point as well. I have some ideas for an improved cooling setup I will make a topic on when I'm farther along in them.

Thanks for the heads up all the information you have given me sounds great except i all ready had my transmission rebuild but i know and probably not it was built with out good raceing parts so im not sure if i want to mess with the transmission again.

Is this what you told me to look up?
Automatic
Torque converter absorbs most of the driveline shock during launch.
Launch RPM can be raised to 5000 RPM's via high stalled torque converters
Electronics automatically shift the vehicle at a preset limit. This avoids
possible engine damage
Consistent RPM shifts allow consistent ET's during bracket racing
Electronic shifting is quicker than even the shortest throw shifters.
Throttle can stay pressed the whole time, keeping transient boost between shifts

Now would any transmission shop would know how to install this kind of translab shift kit
Not sure, I had a friend do it. I know IPT modifies valve bodies but you'd have to contact them to see what exactly they do to them. And its not really the parts used in the trans so much to worry about. The key is increasing your line pressure to increase the clamping pressure for the clutches. If you have the translab kit you'd just want to have them max out the line and reducing pressure. I've done a lot of research about this and asked people and this is what has been recommended.

hey man its been a while since i wrote back to you but i need some help im thinking of buying a forced performance manifold i heard a lot of great things about it but the reason i haven't bought its because i don't know if its going to fit my 20g turbo i know its a direct bolt on for my stock turbo but i want it to fit my 20g and i asked customer service not so much of a great help.
