97 420a into a 99

Ok I know this has been covered, but I can't find an exact answer. Ok I have A 99 eclipse 420a I'm putting a motor from a 97 into it. Will everything work or will I need to change a few sensors if so why sensors and what is the best way to do so.

The 97 and 99 should both use all the same sensors.

Just as they said, it should work fine. I helped out a buddy with putting a 97 420a into a 98 gs.

Anything 96 and up is obd2. 95 and down is obd1. Like everyone else said you should have no problems.

I just got my 420a from my 95 rs running in my 99 gs only code I got was evaporation. But from what i have read the 97420a is exactly the same

Just a note here, its wise to save the sensors on whichever motor does not go in. Just in case

Yeah I plan on keeping the motor that I pull for parts and or eventually rebuilding it.

YES the motor well drop right in and all the sensores with hook right up its only when you have a 95 and 96 and want to put it into a 97 to 99 that u have to Chang the sensores
