95 tsi alternator belt

found a 95 tsi for sale $900. guy said alternator belt broke he didn't have the time to mess with it in are cold ny winters so he got another car. now its spring he just wants the tsi out of his yard. now to my question how hard is it to do a belt on these cars? can i do it at the guys house with my tool kit and drive the car home on the dealer plate? or would it be better to trailer it home waste gas on a 2 hour drive and fix it at home? i would appreciate any help! thanks!

alternator belt is simple. just a socket set and a belt and your set.

definately fix it there; shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

hopefully its just the belt, but yeah just a 15 to 20 min. job.

Just trivia: although they're flat, DSMs do not use "serpentine" belts. They use "multi-V" belts.

Fix it and drive the car home. The alternator belt is on of the easiest belts to replace.

thats the exact same way i got my first dsm got there went to advanced auto right next to the owners house bought the belt put it on it with nothing but brute force took about 20 min and bought gas for 500 like yours.


buy it bring some tools and just drive it home.
