hello fellow dsmers i have a 95 talon i have a problem with the car keeps over heation today i went and put a new raidiator from a 95 eclipse non turbo i have slim line fans not sure what the problem is if anyone has a answer please help me!

thank you

I'm assuming you checked the thermostat before you put the new radiator in?

before you do anything just take a rubber mallet and bang around your radiator cap. Sometimes the 'stat gets stuck and hitting around it can free it up. Do it with the car running, if it works you can hear it start to suck in more fluid. Do you have a fmic? That restricts airflow to your radiator alot and the slim line fans prob dont help much. Stock is always best, flows the most air.

YES I HAVE A FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER BUT WHAT IM THINK I HAD A MOTOR BUILT BY TURBO TRIX IS THERE A CHANCE THEY DIDNT PUT THE THERMOSTAT BACK IN CAN THE CAR RUN WITH OUT A THERMOSTAT IM NOT EVEN SURE IF THERE IS ONE IN THERE HOW DO I CHECK

your thermostat is located right under where you put coolant in. if you want to check it your gonna have to drain your coolant out and unbolt the 2 or so bolts from the waterneck and then take the thermostat and put it in hot water, if it opens up its still good. i would just buy a new one anyways its only 7bucks or so.

ALSO THERES A SENSOR BEHIND THE HOUSING THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMP SENSOR I CAN FIND THE PLUG THAT GOES THERE IT MAY BE BROKE OR MISSING CAN THIS CAUSE THIS ALSO

THIS IS A GREAT WEBSITE THATNKS FOR THE HELP GUYS

the thermostat opens when it get hot enough and sends water threw the engine to cool it off. If there was no thermostat in there it would just flow all the time thus keeping the engine cool. it dont think it would be the sensor either because if it were broken you would get no reading at all. if i were you i would just take the thermostat out and check that. Mine actually broke and it would get real real hot so if i were you id check that. Its very cheap doesnt taske much mechanical skill and takes less than an hour with the trip to the autoparts store. make sure you take the old one out first though becuase they tried to give me the wrong one wheni went. hope that helps. :thumb:
