95 Talon AUTO STALLS!!!!

I have a 95 Talon FWD TSI and sometimes when I start it up it stalls right away, but then when I add gas its fine but when I put it in gear whether its reverse (mostly) or drive the idle will drop and stall. More commonly it happens in reverse. Can someone please help me out, Im going to check the MAF sensor right now to make sure its plugged in all the way and try it out to let you know to eliminate that problem but what else could it be????? THANKS!

I had issues, similar to you, and did simple maint. a while back, which helped, until i could rebuild the trans with IPT parts and install a Valve body performance shift kit. Here is a link to read up on that might help...
