95 gst with 97 tsi trans... axle?

I have a 95 gst that for some reason came with a 97 tsi fwd automatic trans in it..(verified by way of vin stamp on trans). I am still searching for a driver side axle that is 40 inches compressed length and 25 spline on inboard and outboard joints. I work at Oreilly auto parts and have found nothing. Am I overlooking an easy fix like intermediate shaft? This is taking alot of effort. Thanks for any help!

well was the gst an automatic to begin with? and shouldnt tsi and gts transmission be the same. being manual or auto

Both transmission are automatic and bolt to this 4g63 motor. the problem is i have found only 1 axle that is 38 inches long and 25 spline on both joints. this axle is to short to work. i don't know what else to do.
