At BoostedDSMman's request I am making a post out of my response to his Evo 3
part numbers request.

EVO 3 Exhaust manifold, O2 housing and all related gaskets can be ordered from any Mitsu dealer.
You have to tell them that it's in the Cypress, CA warehouse or to check the Atlanta, GA warehouse. So many vendors sell Evo3 Ex Mani stuff that Mitsu Motors USA has been stocking them since 2003.

If you know of a Mitsu dealer that gives club discounts order it from them to get a better price.

For other stuff like the oil cooler and injectors have them check the warehouse just in case,
but you're more than likely going to have to request a special order from Japan through your dealer.

I saw that you have Japan CAPS. I'm building a 7-bolt and I want to use as many EVO 3 OEM parts as possible. I was wondering if you would kindly give me the Mitsu JDM part numbers for the following '95 EVO 3 parts:

EVO 3 fuel injectors: MD187380
EVO 3 IC pipe to TB gasket: are none, rubber hose clamps onto TB
EVO 3 TB to in manifold gasket: MD194578 (same as 1G DSM)
EVO 3 in manifold to head gasket: MD192031 (same as 2G DSM)
EVO 3 head to ex manifold gasket: MR239663
EVO 3 exhaust manifold: MR224509
EVO 3 t/c seal ring: MD171221
EVO 3 ex manifold to t/c gasket: MD171220
EVO 3 t/c to O2 Housing gasket: MD185805
EVO 3 O2 housing: MR224847
EVO 3 O2 housing to ex pipe gasket: MB687004
------------------------------
EVO 3 oil cooler: MB890995
EVO 3 oil cooler hose feed: MB890992 it's a kit, feed and return are tied together
EVO 3 oil cooler hose return: see above
EVO 3 oil cooler tube: see above again
EVO 3 oil cooler bracket: bracket part of oil cooler
EVO 3 oil filter housing (bracket Assy): MD191710

Q:Any other oil cooler hardware needed to make this work on a
7-bolt?

A: Since I've never done it before I don't know.

This would make a great post for others who want to do this project!
Many thanks
Eric

Hope this helps Eric and any others

I love this one, here's a little fun fact

The EVO 3 borrowed from the EVO 2 minus the intake cam.
The 95-96 1/2 2nd Gens borrowed from the discontinued parts bin of the EVO 1

After 1995 if you owed a 1st gen and went to the dealer to get a new intake cam it was superseded to an EVO 3 intake cam.

What does this mean?? If you want an EVO 3 exhaust cam go to any 90-94 DSM 5-speed turbo and get it.

If you want an EVO 3 intake cam go to a Mitsu dealer and ask for a 1st gen intake cam
Repl Part MD335754, remember no 1st gen came with one, it just became the replacement part number.

Interesting information, thank you. I had a very knowledgeable friend suggest the E3 cams to me as an upgrade. Do you know if the duration changed significantly for the intake cam on the early E3 335754 or what the E1 cams durations were compared to the 1g?

Anyone have the part number of the Throttle body from the Evo 3?

I called my dealership and got a non-club member price of $255.62 for the Evo III intake manifold and a club member price of $152.66. I expected it to be in the $300-$400 range.

Hopes this helps,

Seems that part number is not valid. I ordered everything to do the dual 3rd and 4th today, but the hub and slider were a no go. I am sure the non dual synchro one will work just fine, as well as the OEM US spec fork. Can anyone verify?

How about Evo 3 pistons? As far as I have found they are 9.0 C/R, can anyone confirm that? Seems like it would be a better option than a 2g.

9.0 would be a better option for someone doing a stock rebuild on a 2g. But if you are going to be doing a rebuild, you might want to look for a .20" oversized piston. I know the stock 2g pistons can be order in this size, but can the Evo3 pistons be ordered like this? Depending on the price and availability, would be a nice alternative to stock pistons. Also depends on the material used to make them. Seeing as it is an Evo3, they would probably be pretty strong because we all know that the Evo3 was a WRC wringer car.

Good point about the oversizing, not sure if they would be available in larger than standard bore or not. They would be ideal for my build as I'm looking for a higher compression motor that won't be over 400hp. I really don't need piston slapping forged slugs in my motor but its my only option for 9.0 C/R.

I think you have to get the one from the 92 tranny.

I also think that there is a separate number for the hub and for the sleeve, but the are only sold together.

I had a spare 3/4 hub and slider sitting in my parts drawer out of a 90 transmission. It fit perfect with the dual synchro 3/4 gear setup. Just make sure you use a 92 shift rail along with it.

So far, it shifts like butter. I just gotta get this twin disc on :)

Good info! But, I know for a fact that the 1990-1991 m/t cams are different than the 1992-1994 m/t cams. The 1990-1991 cams for a/t m/t or n/t have all the same exhaust cam 248 duration at the lower lift value and the same centerline angle. 1992-1994 cams had the longer 252 duration at the higher lift value. . . The 1992-1994 cams are likely the evo cams.

Another interesting piece of info is that the 1g and evo valve spring part numbers are the same. The 2g valve springs are a different part number. Now since 1g springs are in evo1-3 cars but not 2g springs, are 1g springs better than 2g springs????

I spoke to someone from dentsport he tells me he has the JDM caps there but when I asked him for the 2 gear part numbers I wanted it's like he didn't want to tell me? Instead he told me to ask my dealer which didn't make sense since it was never over here.

Yet he has alot of P/N listed from the evo 3 already.

I entered the 3 & 4 p/n in the dealer parts program ( they don't use caps anymore) and they show up in it.
