I think my 95 awd auto ecu is going bad so I bought a 96 ecu(awd and auto) to replace it with. Well I took out the 95 ecu and there was 2 plugs going into it. The 96 ecu has spots for 4 plugs??? So 2 are left open. That doesnt seem right and the car ran like crap with the 96 ecu in it. ANy ideas why my 95 eprom ecu has only 2plugs going into it and would this be the reason for the car running like crap with having 2 open plugs.
heres the new ecu. It is a turbo awd auto ecu.

Some cars had OBDII before 1996, but OBDII wasn't required until 1996. Most states run OBDI tests (tailpipe sniffer I think) on 95 DSMs even tho they have OBDII, just because it wasn't a complete government standard till 96.
