Wired up my stereo and there's an extra wire it's blue and my stereo doesn't have another wire I was wondering ifnit has anything to do with the illumination lights because when my stereo is on all interior illumination lights are on and when it's off they are off. If somebody could get me a color code for where all the wires go that would be cool

Isn't the blue wire supposed to be used for an amp.. Been a while since I have had a sound system but I think it's called the remote wire.

Yea Grothe is correct. the extra blue is for an amp turn on signal. The Orange wire is typically the dimmer wire. I am sure you can easily google a wire schematic of the stock stereo wiring.

Bamm :thumb: Onlt blue wired ive ever used for a stereo is the remote wire which is blue.I think it sends a signal to the amp when the deck is turned on,turning on the amp.

Good to see I can remember some things :). As for the illumination issues, I think my alpine had the ID of each wire on top of it. Could always start there, if not as someone else said just Google the schematic.

The blue wire on the head unit is for an acc. Like an amp.

The black and yellow wire on the stock radio harness plug is your interior light system. I can remember for sure but I think the adaptor harness turns it into an orange wire

Are you using the adapter that plugs straight into the stock plug or are you trying to match wires? I can help either way I just need to know which route you are taking.

The 3 wires are the ones I am not using on the adaptor plug. My head unit does have them. The blue wire from the head unit is tied to my amp. So I don't need the blue one on the adaptor harness
