My 95 auto won't go past 3k rpm. I installed my shift box and the car shifts perfectly fine but when I start off in 1at gear, the car won't get going as much. Even if I have the gas pedal pushed all the way down it won't pick up. I noticed if I tap the gas pedal instead pushing it down the car could easily go past 3k Before making the gear change to 2 but then struggles again.

So I'm saying it won't go past 3k rpm even with me flooring the gas pedal. I was saying that the shift box makes the changes perfectly fine.
Let's backup a little. Was the car running fine at any point? Did you make changes? What tuning solution do you have if any? Is your profile up to date?

Car went into shop for head gasket, timing job. Car ran go before hand but never got to testing the shift box, it just doesn't want to get going when pressing rhe gas, like it has no power, I did scan for codes and had a p0100 and will most likely swap out my current maf with another one that I cleaned.

I cant read this, please correct.

Spark plugs and wires could be a culprit, but the p0100 (Mass Air Flow sensor circuit malfunction) would be a better place to start. Check for loose or corroded electrical connector or broken wires first. You can't really clean a DSM Karman-Vortex MAS, and attempting to do so may ruin it. So if you sprayed anything inside like "MAF cleaner" or brake clean, it's probably done.

I missed that part. How did you "clean" it?

I'll be trying that out, the shop installed new plugs as well

What should I use to clean it with?

Becuz the p0100 code i got. But I ended up swapping out mafs and it seemed to be a bit better but as soon as I change gears from 1st to 2nd it won't go past 2k now. I tried tapping the gas pedal a few times and that helped the rpms go up past 2k but I had to keep tapping the pedal but as soon as I push the gas pedal all the way down it has a hard time going past 2k

Could their be a chance that the transmission is in limp.mode? I installed a valve body with a shift kit already installed but didnt get a chance to deive it afyer the install. Could that be the issue, maybe the kit was bad?
