That has to be an insanely fun fawking car to drive, i can't imagine dropping my engine and trans setup into something that well suited to daily use (as well as being morecomfortable), would have to be one of the quickest sleepers around around! or at least i would think most people would underestimate the car when deciding tochallenge you :D GReat build to by the way

Damages...

What a waste today was. I ran the brake lines and I was just getting excited about mounting the gas tank and the rear subframe when I noticed that one of the e-brake cables was different. I pulled them both out and I really dont know what car one of them came out off. Im stuck right now. I cant go the the j/y for another week. This sucks.

Either way, here's a pic of the 2g Diamante rear trailing arms. Notice how bulky the tube is. Dont have one of the old style for comparison.

New pics as promised.

Still waiting for the pass side hub to come in the mail.

Timing belt skipped and here's the damage. All intake valves were bent, all exhaust were fine. I didnt take chances with the same head and went with the back up - just transfered the valve springs and retainers.

Awesome Build! Hey, Quick Question? Maybe I missed it, but did the rear end come out of? (car) DSM, Galant AWD, etc? Sticking with this BUILD for awhile!!!

Yeah man, it came out of 2g Talon. Im glad you like what i do here. Thanks

She is up and running boys, man what i relieve.

JUst did a compression test for the first time after the engine was rebuild year and a half ago. Now that it has 2g head instead of Hyundai head it dropped 20 psi a cylinder. Either way, its holding 200psi across the board.

Look at this Addco sway bar fitting the AWD subframe......man Im so excited,,,,its got no clearance issues. It definitely fits better that it does on the FWD subframe.

Bunch of Subbies and DSMs in the yard.

Got the driveshaft back from the shop and it looks very nice. It totaled $175 for shorting the front piece and replacing the middle piece tube.

I just found some good shape rear bench seats. It came off a S model which didnt come with arm rest and the metal backing. The seats are very light.

The engine bay hasnt changed although Im going to pick up an engine tomorrow. I found a 97 engine with 95k on it for $210, not bad at all. It will get Eagle rods and Evo 10 pistons.

Also found some Eclipse gr2s with stock springs. The assembly is already 1 inch shorter than the Galant shock and it should go lower under the weight of the car. Now I need to find some rear shocks and springs.

Photo0071.jpg

I got the motor today, and I had a bit of a problem in the yard. Since it was a SOHC motor and I dont need another SOHC heaad, I went and asked if they would sell me just the block for less. No good - block or entire engine for $200. Well I went and found an 1g and pulled the head off it, slapped it on the block and done deal.

Started taking the engine apart - balance shaft's teeth were shredded and the water pump was shot. Just on time for the 95k mile and proly very little maintenance.

And A few pics from when i was getting the car ready for MOD 2012 that I missed.

Another step closer to finish it.

Head is torqued down and I dropped off the oil pan to have a 12AN fitting welded to it. It should be soon ready to install it. I still need front brake hard lines. I got them form the junkyard, but it seems like i misplaced them. IDK what the freak happened to them.
