1G 93 TSi wont start.

I just bought my first turbo, and i know nothing about it. I bought it with the intercooler and piping in the hatch. The guys said i can sit there and turn it over all day but its not going to start because one of the pipes has to run into the mafs. Not to sure on how true that is, so some help would be great.

We need to know what maf you are running before we can really help. Maybe some pictures would help too... welcome to the wonderful world of DSM's it never stops, there is always something but they are worth it.

They don't run very well if at all without piping from the intake manifold all the way to the MAF. Without it the ECU isn't getting any idea of the air entering the engine.

Also make sure that your ECU is turning on and running. The CEL should turn on for 5 seconds or so and then turn off when you turn the ignition on. The factory boost gauge will move to 0 until you start cranking then engine and go back when you stop if the engine doesn't start running. If it does start the boost gauge should be around the -7 mark on a 1G.

Speed Density doesn't use a MAF for air metering but that's not the standard setup on DSMs.

with a stock maf, all piping needs to be connected so the air is metered. is it a aftermarket or stock intercooler, pipe set up?

The intercooler and pipes are all aftermarket. They haven't been put on the car yet. I'll have pictures up for you guys to take a look. Thanks, I appreciate it .

When i turn the key on the CEL comes on for about 5 seconds or so, and the stock boost gauge goes to zero.
