This year I decided to step back into the DSM game so I bought a 93 talon that looked to be in fairly good condition. I picked it up for 1200 completely stock and 100% complete. Problem was the motor wouldn't turn over.

I got the car home and immediately pulled the motor out.

Next I ordered the following:

Manley 9:1 pistons
Manley turbo tuff rods
Acl tri metal bearings
L19 head studs
Felpro permatorque head gasket
Jmf race intake manifold (came with a huge tb and I don't know what brand it is. Anyone?)
BC 280's
BC dual valve springs
Fidanza cam gears
Gates timing belt
Dsmlink v3 w/ speed density
Aem 5 bar
Dinosaur lifters
Super tech 1mm valves

I don't know the following member who I ordered all this from but he gave me such a good deal I couldn't pass it up.

Next I went to a local machine/performance shop called Ellis performance. At the time my cousin Jerry Jimney was also building a 2g so we convinced Bryan Ellis to give us a sponsorship. We ended up getting an extreme deal on getting our motors machined and assembled from a high reparative shop.

Next was deciding on a turbo setup. When I got back on the forums it's seemed like the whole game had changed. Holset turbos? I saw that people were getting nice power for a very nice price. So I bought a HX40 but then realized that I wanted a little more power and I wanted to be a little more different and try to get some more attention. HX52 was my final choice

Ended up finding a great deal on a DNP twin scroll T4 w/ Tial 44mm gate so I jumped on that.

I noticed that the vband flange on the turbo was actually 4.75 and there was no way I was going to clear the alternator.

So I milled the vband off of the exhaust housing.

I then purchased a Exedy twin disk clutch and then it was time to put the motor in.

Next was the fuel system. I purchased 2 Walboro 255's and made my own double pumper setup.

I then installed a 8an feed to the rail with a 6an return.

As of yesterday I took the car down to JSF (Joe Styles Fabrication) to my very good friend Mike McLaughlin. As of now we are work on a full 4" turbo back exhaust for the HX52 project. Last night we finished tacking up the downpipe and it is looking a fitting great. I did realize that no matter what I was going to have to relocate my alternator so I ordered the Jay Racing alternator kit. Here are some pictures from yesterday.

Thank you.

There will be alot more to come. I'm still stuck on deciding if I'm going to run 2150's with e85 or 1650's with race gas.

You COULD run pump gas on that massive bastard and still net in the 600 range i bet. Big ass t4: man thats the way to go. Great build so far.

Build looks great man. I am looking forward to seeing this thing fire up. There isn't a lot of people running the HX52. There are a few, but not many people pushing the limits and posting results like people do with the 35 and 40. Build is coming along nicely.

I have made 800whp with two different 4g63 vehicles. The results are out there. You just have to look for them.

I made 410whp @ only 15psi, redline cut 2k rpm short to ~7500 because we had not touched any cells above that before running out of time (only got 3 pulls) and everything under that was pig rich and weak timing.

Going back on 11/9 to see how much we can make at the same boost before throwing the MBC on the car and building from there. :D

The HX52's a beast for how much they cost, and they spool fairly fast for their size. At least down here at a few hundred feet above sea level.

I picked up a XS power Evo front mount intercooler for free. I was thinking about using this on my setup since it was free and all.

So I'm thinking about welding 3" outlets to it and see what happens.

What do you guys think? You think I will be restricting airflow or do you think that intercooler will be able to handle the airflow? The website says 1200cfm. After all it was free and all

I've never run one of those intercoolers, but from what I hear they are not efficient, I use etss with my fp green, more people will swear my ets too they make a great fmic, but does cost a bit.

Awesome build man. Is this a HX52 Pro? There's a number of us local in Md. Look for DSM Heads of MD on FB and join up. Would be a sick build to see in person. I just picked up a hx40 pro myself.

Nice. Lol, Well shit. Ive seen you post here and there. Dont recall you ever posting about this build. Joshua is doing a compound twin charge using a Pro 52 also

New update. I got my 4" aluminum exhaust done and I must say I am very happy on the way it turned out. Very clean and a lot of clearance, well more than expected.

Sorry for the pics it was getting dark. I'll take some more later

I also decided to switch out on using the eBay fmic idea so I picked up a vibrant intercooler. Got a very good deal on it brand new. I got it mounted and now I'm working on routing the 3" piping.

Looking sick man! I'm Dane, I had those busted hx52 parts laying around...we talked a few months back. But, I'm glad to see it coming along man, it's looking solid!

Sick build man! That DNP manifold tucks the turbo under there very well!

I was very skeptical when I bought my t3 DNP manifold for my hx40, was really worried about it cracking or something since its tubular and I've always ran cast, but about 2years on the car and no problems what so ever! Great manifold!

Looking forward to more updates.

Nice set up.
Who made the exh system for you. and do you have an idea on the weight.

I made the exhaust system. I'm not exactly sure on total weight but I can say that it is light as a feather.

I was really impressed with the dnp manifold actually. The clearance was awesome all the way around. I was even able to keep my power steering.

Landspeeddsm what single fuel pump would you suggest? I figured that if one 255 is rated for 500 then why wouldn't two accommodate for 1000hp?
