Ok, this past weekend I pulled out a ZEX kit (that was installed by the perveous owner of the car) and just blocked off the 2 hoses that where left. 1 to IM and the other to FPR.

Today I warm up the car....go to the gas station,fuel up.

As I get on the freeway every thing is cool. 1st gear:no problem. 2nd gear: just fine, here comes 3rd. as I'm getting out of 3rd I start to notice that theres no power. I thow it into 4th and my boost is going nuts. For some reason I throw it into 5th hoping it will GO. Nothing.I go back into 3rd and am going 40mph on the freeway. I look into the rearveiw and hit the gas,Black smoke. I drive the car back home and park it,and fire up the CRX and jet to work.

Q:whats going on with my car? Is there a chance that I might of damaged something? The Talon has ran like a champ and is my daily driver untill this happen.

the ecu is mounted in the dash behind the radio. You need to remove the carpeted panels on each side to access it. Once out, remove the cover from the ecu and look to see if there is any damage to the circuit board. The capacitors that leak are located in the center of the board towards the plug side. Should be 3 cylindrical objects sticking up. Also smell and see if anything smells fishy. If they are leaking, they need to be replaced. Im sure this is in the faq section with more detailed instructions.
 
Where I'm having trouble is, this car has been my daily driver for the last 3months.I never had any problems untill the I pulled the Zex out last sunday night. All I did was unplug 2 lines, and now my car is runnung like shit.


Thanx for the input, i'm gonna go pull out the ECU.
 
ECU looks fine and theres no smell. Anyone else have any ideas?:cry:
 
OK QUICK Q where was it installed (please dont use para phrase like o.m.g) and what lines are they are they stainless steel line ?? and how exactly did you block them off . If the symptoms ocured after you uninstalled something then odds are you did mess it up. Not to discurage you but if you could screw it up you could also make it work like new.

ok...REVOLUTION....the zex "box" was mounted where the battery is located.(battery relocated to the trunk) Ther was one line that went to the fuel pressure regalator and a second lint that went to the ftont of the intakemanifold. The line that went to the fuel pressure regalator was T'd off (3way slpitter that looks laike a T).So I unpluged the line that went to the Zex box,and the line that was left I hooked it rite up to the FPR. As for the second line that went to the Inatke Manifold, I plugged the line with a bolt. The only place i could find that the 2nd line could of gone to would of been to a nipple next to the filter.

let me knoe if this makes sence,and thanx for wantting to help me out.
