I have an early '92 GSX with a non-EPROM ECU that has leaky caps. I need to get my car running and it takes 4 to 6 weeks for somewhere like Autozone to rebuild an ECU. Does anyone know where I can buy a new or rebuilt ECU for under $300? Thanks!

check the classifieds and also freelancer services. Search for "TurboAnything" He does all my ECU work. He's local in my area and his prices are very good.

If you need it right away, you can try a local TV or electronics repair shop. I wouldn't pay over 50 bucks for recapping services, personally and nothing more than 70 bucks for a non-eprom ECU.

Thanks for the replies!
Well my car hadn't been started for a good 4 years. When I got it started up, it didn't run too well and was throwing baro sensor and air temp sensor codes. We tested the MASS and it was fine so I pulled the ECU out. When I opened it up, there was quite a bit of acid on the board from the caps. So could the caps leaking have caused board damage? Or could I just get new caps? Thanks!

Is ECMTuning trustworthy? And could a bad ECU cause problems with the air sensor readings, or do I have a bad MAS? Thanks

ECMTuning is the way to go, but if you want to save on cash, I suggest just replacing the caps yourself.
If you are going to send it to ECMTuning and have 300 to spend, just wait around and find an EPROM ECU and have it chip and have the caps and replaced for a couple hundred more bucks. Its a good investment, I say.

ECMTuning doesn't charge to replace caps. But they will charge you to look it over and fix what is wrong. So in your case your really paying to get caps replaced, unless they cause damage to the board. You could also have them do an EPROM conversion
