Ok I've searched the forums but haven't got a definite answer to my question. but first let me give a little back story.
Got my talon put together last fall and found i only had 2 gears, did a little searching here on tuners and found that my tran bracket was a 90 while the rest (shifter base, selector arm) was 91-94 so I swapped to what I think was is a full 90 set up. I take it out for a rip and then loose every gear but 2nd and find that the circlip for the cables on the tran popped off of both cables. I then fix the cable's and get to take it out around town a few more times then i loose first gear completely out of my tran so this last week I got a new one and installed it. Go to take it out for a rip and find 1st yet again doesn't want to engage....but then neither does 3 or 5th. So it adjusted it until I had 1st 3rd and 5th but then I lost 2nd 4th and revers, I re-adjust the cables correctly this time as per write up in the VFAQ archives, also found an improperly bleed hydraulic system can cause this issue to so I bleed the whole system 3 times as per VFAQ archives write up. Now I have 2nd gear 4th, 5th and reverse but still no 1st or third gears they just grind like a banchi and pop out the exact same way 1st did in my first transmission.
I'm positive it has to be in the linkage setup, anyone have any suggestions? ideas? I'm needing to have the car up and going for next weekends car show and drift meets.

Ok update, I re read older threads on this topic and some how missed how to check for shifter cable's being faulty. Went out and pulled the cables off, found they were restricting selector arm movement significantly, now I have to find a solution quickly.
