I have searched the forums and have found lots of different fixes to the problem that I have. I have a 91 Talon Tsi that will not start. I have checked the coil and the "power pack" per the haynes manual and have no spark. I have pulled the CAS, left it plugged in and turned the key end. Still no spark and I can't hear the injectors pulsing. I tried to hook up my logger to see if I could pull a cel and I got an "error communication ecu". (probably not the exact phrasing) I am reluctant into shelling out the 100 for the CAS if it's the ECU. I'll give you a brief history. Car has been runnig fine since I got it. About a week ago it rains pretty good for a couple of days then lets up. Go to start the car and it starts but it's definitly not right, sounds like a lawn mower and will not rev like it should. I don't have time to fiddle with it that day so I button it up and head to work, thinking that something has just gotten wet and it will dry out and work fine. Next day it does the same thing. This morning I go to start it to see how it's doing and it just wont start. Cranks great, just won't start. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is what I feel like I'm doing------>:beatentodeath:

Make sure that the ECU is getting power and booting up. Right now what your describing sounds like a ECU problem but a blown MPI fuse would stop the power to it.

Since every 1G ECU has either had leaking capacitors or will if left alone, it's a common problem for them to die and need repair. Without a good ECU nothing else interesting will happen with your car. (ie: It's not going to start)

Once your sure the ECU is good follow the No Start FAQ should help you get the car running. http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217951
