Ok so i have nojust recently acquired a 91 Gst. The body is in amazing shape as well as the interior. The previous owner says there were no problems with the tyranny when it ran last. That brings me to the bad part, the head gasket was blown and has been sitting for years now. The previous owner drained the coolant and oil to keep damage to a minimum. The motor is all stock with only a boost controller and boost gauge. So i have an old block from my old 90 gst. Both of the motors have surface rust and i am not so sure on any pitting so i am gonna send one if not both to the machine shop to be checked out. My goal is 300 horses and more acceleration than top end for everyday driving and some autocross. So here's where i want some opinions. While im at it should i do anything to the bottom end or just rebuild it stock, maybe beef it up. The motor may need a slight .10 bore because of pitting if it does should i just go big or just fix it. I've decided to stick with the auto tranny for now so i just want some ideas and opinions. Thank you

For auto X your going to need a larger tranny cooler.

For the block, just go with .20 over on 8.5 or 9.0 compression. Will be fine on 6 bolt rods with only 300 hp.

For turbo you want lower end.Go 14b turbo 2g or evo 3 manifold.Even small 16g turbo for only 300 hp..Remember fuel and tuning.Your not gonna get very far on 1g auto injectors, and the stock 13g turbo.

I planned on the tranny cooler and maybe a better torque converter. I have a 14b that i can rebuild i planned to put on. What would u go with for pistons? some affordable brand that i can get oversized pistons from?

You won't need another aftermarket converter..Those are more for drag racing than autoX.

Pistons.I would check the classified section once your able to view and use it.There are always deals on brand new pistons in there.
