Automatic FWD Turbo...need opinions

I have a 95 Talon Turbo FWD Automatic. When I took my car to the track I ran a 16.0 3 times in a row. If anyone has a FWD Turbo Automatic GST or TSI please tell me your times. I dont know if something is wrong with my car or what. Maybe a 16 fully stock FWD Automatic is the best it can do I am not sure. Please leave your thoughts theyd be greatly appreciated.

Were you brake torquing or just punching it at green? That could make a half second difference.

That time is not that uncommon. I have an AWD A/T Tsi and when I ran the car at the track the first time I ran a 15.7 with a cat back and intake only. The closer to stock your A/T is the more it sucks. You have to remember that the AWD has the advantage of good 60ft times. A luxury you don't have. What you need to do is get a good turbo setup on there and open up those lungs so that the car can breathe. My A/T had a 20G on it and it ran 13.8@101mph and that was with only 15psi of boost. One of the best things you can do is do the complete turbo back exhaust. that really opens things up for you. I've been told that you might want to consider a 2.5" downpipe instead of 3" just to keep a little more low end. That's what I ran on mine and then 3" cat back.

Your biggest enemy when you start making big power is going to be heat and traction. Keep your tranny cool and your tires sticky. If you can nail 2.0 60fts your doing pretty decent. When you break 300whp you need to also keep your eye on second gear because the tires can and will break loose pretty easy when you hit second. I was roasting the tires from a 25mph-30mph punch which is just sad. As far as the A/T goes you will eventually want to go with either IPT or Level10 for the tranny upgrades. 300+hp on a A/T is living on borrowed time.

That is about right.

If you want to be faster look into a high stall converter best bang for an automatic. Even better if your AWD.

The stock automatic transmission is horrible. Equipped with a high stall converter and shift kit you would be able to keep up with the sticks. But having an automatic isnt the worst thing its having FWD(in my experience of course).

I definitely recommend the shift kit and end clutch kit to start. It will increase the performance and the durability of your trans. Then when you are ready you can upgrade your torque converter with either a re-stalled OEM converter or a smaller diameter billet converter.
