I have all sorts of parts laying around that need to be installed, FMIC, Dsmlink, 14b, short shifter, b-shaf elim, 1g head, exc. So much it's a little overwelming . I guess that how we all have became amiture machanics :dsm:

I've got a 90 oil filter housing I'm planing on installing on my 96gsx, I'm using aftermarket steel braided lines to the 90 oil cooler. Other then mounting the Oil Cooler, runing the lines, will I be needing to do anything special to install this filter housing? Or will I simply need to take off the LTBC and iner fenderwel and goto town?

Edit: I did a quick search, does somone have a link to a VFAQ for removing the Lower timing belt cover?

yea I'm pretty sure the 90 housing only works on 6 bolts. As far as timing belt cover removal ... why not go to vfaq and look at the timing belt swap section since that will include the cover r&r as well.

I'm not sure how different it is for a 7 bolt, but when I switched to the '90 filter housing on my 6 bolt, I also bought a '90 front water pipe and '90 thermostat housing because they don't have the coolant provisions for the water-oil cooler. Some people just plug them up, but I wanted to do it right. Note: these parts were a direct bolt-in without needing modification because my engine is a 6 BOLT.

Hope that helps answer your question of "do I need anything special."

According to the link I posted, no it doesnt look like it works. If it did I dont know why they would bother importing evo filter housings.

Oh no I took no offense;) It does suck though. Ive done things like that before. Live and learn is what I say.

BTW: You will have no problem selling that housing Im sure. So its not a total loss.
