Resolved 90 laser wont start

I k ow I shouldn't post here, but all my DSM friends have no clue what's wrong. She cranks beautifully(sounds better than she ever has) I'm quite certain there's fuel being sprayed into the block(checked with q-tip) and there's no spark. I bought a new coil pack and no difference. I was told the cas by auto zone, but the one on the car is in way better condition than the other two I have.(looks to be a year or two old. Approximating). So how can I test my coil pack resistor. Or any one have any ideas?

You do not have to rotate the motor to do anything with the cas

To me. That didn't answer my question. So what your telling me is that even if I timed everything except the cas. That I can remove it, rotate it, and it should start?

If you need to remove and rotate 180 you can do so. You will alter ignition timing if you dont mark the position of the cas. You sound as if youre confusing ignition timing and mechanical timing.

No I'm not. What I read made me think for some reason if you do put the cas on 180°. That you would need to rotate the engine, and put both into timing to start it. Last question. From what I saw. If I did time it correctly along with the engine. The tick on the cas points towards the red Mark on the cam gear. Correct?

How are you going to know if the CAS is 180* out if the engine isn't at TDC?
You can pull the CAS anytime and flip the position 180* and put it back in but you won't know if it's correct or not.

But it can only go one of two ways, and the slot at the end of the cam shaft isn't perfectly parallel with the timing ticks on the gear. So no one knows which direction it points while the gear is turned? Or rather, can confirm what I belive is the correct direction?

I forgot to add information like usual. It isn't perfectly parallel, but it is almost parallel with gear ticks.

What I meant was if you know it's out then take it off and turn it 180 degrees if you're not sure put the motor at top dead center and then go look. It should only take you a few minutes to do the entire process

It is now on correctly. Still no spark so I'm some how going to test the cas. Don't quite understand the post, but I'm sure me and my friend can figure this out.

Personally I would be highly suspect of either the Cas or the continuity of the wiring somewhere between either Cas and ecu or ecu and coils/pcu. Forgive me if this has already been discussed but how did you determine there is an absence of spark? Was this an assumption or was it visually determined?

Visually and physically. I thought the spark might be too weak to see. So I stuck my pinky finger in each coil pack hole while my dad turned the key. Felt nothing. As to the wire thought. Doesn't testing the cas involve testing the wires to the ecu plugs or something?

There's oil going into my exhaust pipe and burning inside the catalytic converter.....um....a lot of knock when oil pressure rises. I think that's every thing. I did two logs, so when I can I'll convert them and post them

I've been electrocuted by the coil pack before. Doesn't hurt at all.

This happened to me a few years ago. It is the ECU. I used Foreign Auto Computer http://www.foreignecurepair.com/ Dade City, Florida. The car started right up after I put the replacement in.

I found the problem. I plugged the cas into the throttle position sensor. I guess I assumed the ecu cable would have male ends, while sensors had female ends. v_v I'm just a idiot.

I've been electrocuted by the coil pack before. Doesn't hurt at all.

I've never been shocked by a dsm coil before, I Imagined it would be the same as what happened to me... one time, I was shocked by an msd blaster 2 coil [on a familly members car non dsm], one of the spark plug wires came loose, and it hit me on the hand, I could taste metal in the roof of my mouth, and it felt really nasty like my hand was run over by a truck but only in the area where it had hit, I was all like errrrrrrrrrr!!!!! after about 5 seconds of that I was able to move again, but my hand was a bit sore afterwards, so glad I did not loose any of my limbs in this exchange.

I would never put my fingers or limbs near a msd coil pack. Even if I suspected weak electricity
