so I picked up a 90 laser rs when i got it the motor knocked because of the rear balance shaft bearings so i pulled it. I put in a motor from my 91 talon which was running right before i put it in the laser so i know its not that. I boost leak tested it....nothing no leaks. The car will start if i let it sit. When it starts it will stay running as long as i dont let it idle down to low. I took it down the road came back drove fine was idling fine walked in the house it idled down and died and wont start again. I switched all the 90 plugs over to 91 and the computer as well soldered all the wires and they are on correctly. Im thinking possibly the fuel pump is heating up and shutting off or its possibly the relay. Any help would be appreciated. things i can rule out...the maf, boost leak, crank angle sensor, coil pack, power transistor, computer. I have dsmlink in there but im not getting any codes.

compression yes, spark yes, fuel to the rail not sure about through the injector tho. I am getting a coolant temp sensor code tho since i checked it again which i am getting all the time im wondering if this would cause my car not to start. I dont think its the sensor itself but the wires too it because it did it when i got the car as well but i didnt have dsmlink in there to read the codes. The sensor was working last week when i pulled this motor from my talon.

got it to run im still getting a knock sensor cicuit malfunction code. The knock sensor is brand new. The wires have continuity. the power wire only has .5 ohms of resistance. So I have no idea why its throwing this code. It also idle surges now which it never did a week ago when i pulled the motor from my talon.

Coolant temp sensor is definitely a common problem in no start situations. However, in my experience with a coolant temp sensor code, and most (if not all) of the others I have read about, it will be hard to start from cold, but will start up easy on a warm start. Yours seems to be the opposite. This is definitely the first place you should be looking.

wouldnt that throw a code on the dsmlink im logging coolant temp and the gauge is working fine i doubt its that no offense plus ive switched them so i know its not that. It seems to me like its a short in the harness of the car or something related to the car because it did it when i got the car i put an entirely different everything under the hood from a working car with no cel and it still does the same thing. Ive switched the mpi relay the ignition. Nothing seems to fix it.
