My center section, between the two tail lights, says Mitsubishi on my 1990 GSX but not on my Laser or Talon (but the Talon has a Talon logo). It that the original part or did it need replaced at some point? Not nit picking, more ADMIRING how good the car looks. I also run the "Flex Fuel" badges on my cars, LOL.

Now for the fun things, TUNING PULLS. Spent the day with my buddy doing pulls and getting timing and fuel trims pretty happy. All thus far the car has only been plumbed from the turbo to the external gate because brand new motor things. 18.5lb spring, 8000rpm redline in these recordings

If it was ever replaced, it wasn't me. I have seen other mitsu cars listed with the blank section so i can't say for sure

A couple weeks later, just taking a different friend out for a ride. 2nd gear into 4th. That holset hits HARD. still on wastegate, typically full spool between 4700-5000.

now the inevitable; a highway(obviously in mexico), a friend (the one assisting with tuning) with his LS swapped rx8 and a camera. what could go wrong? well my trans has had a slight grind going in to third for quite some time and it finally decided to quit. not only did i lose third, i lost first and fifth. rx8 dyno'd at 370whp. i still have yet to pull that trans apart but when i drained it, it was full of metal.

I already had a spare trans ready that i picked up from a local dsm'er just waiting for the one in the car to let loose. About a week after that video I swapped the new one in and we were back in business. knocked it out in a couple hours and wasn't looking at my phone so unfortunately no pictures from anything to do with that. However i did come to find out that my car had a 91-94 trans in it with a 23 spline tcase and my spare was a 22 spline 90 gearset so i had to quickly source a 22 splice tcase. snagged an iron front half 22 spline and we were ready to go. this video was basically after everything was swapped and before the first drive to see if the spare trans had any issues, which i didn't find any. shifts felt great!

Weekend before the 30th Shootout I finally got some tint on the car. 20% all around. Attended my first Shootout that weekend and had a blast. Left the 1g at home though I wasn’t confident enough in it to make the 4hr drive and not leave me stranded

I picked up some sealed led lights off amazon for around $70-80 iirc they seem to be pretty bright. the only issue i ran in to was these cars use a common power for the headlights and switch the high and low beam off that so i left it with just high beams only because i try hard not to drive this at night. i've seen some things online that i can change this but i haven't monkey'd with it yet

last outing of 23 was to cars and coffee sometime mid-late october. had happened to me at least one other time that the car will vibrate a bellhousing bolt loose and i never caught it quick enough and one of the bolts fell out. limped the car home and put it away not to be touched for the rest of the year

now we're here in 2024, i did at some point go and blue loctite my bellhousing bolts and replace the one that got lost. car had been sitting for a few month with e in the tank and it wasn't super happy about waking up but didn't fight too hard. this video was taken here at the beginning of march. plans before the season start include redoing my charge piping, doing some wiring cleanup, a good polish on the paint, thinking about swapping from the buschur muffler to a vibrant that i have sitting around, and some other odds and ends. then it's time to work on turning the car up. goal is 600hp, should roughly be somewhere over 400 at this point after playing with the rx8 and that same friend has a 400hp supercharged H6 swapped legacy that dyno'd at 400 and i seem to pull from it

I definitely have all intentions of getting it to the shootout this year! I really want to get it to my local track and get some test and tunes in and possibly race at the shootout this year

dont be like me and enter stock appearing thinking youll do good with your high 10 second car, first pass i got walked by an evo doing a 9.2 LOL
LOL LOL yeah stock appearing wasn't always so stock appearing, i think i would try index if i decide to participate

Are you limited to how many miles you can drive it each year? I know some states that let you slide on emissions tests with those plates are still stingy about it
PA you’re supposed to be 5000 and under. It’s not like they’re going to check though and I don’t have the speed cable in the trans hooked up so my odometer doesn’t go up, I just use the gps in my digital dash for speed and miles
