90 engine 91 car....no tach ....help

hey i have a 90 4g63t in my 91 tsi talon...with a 92 -94 air maifold on it ....the tach doesnt work...... i know that the sensor on the back of the manifold is whear the tach plugs into .... but it doesnt match up...is there any way to make it work....thanks
