Just trying out my new wastegate actuator for my Evo III 16g (running around 23psi). Made a bunch of clean pulls with no knock. Then, during a second gear WOT pull (log attatched), I get a loud backfire type noise, and 8.1° of knock retard! Thought I blew off a coupler or something, but everything looks ok. Car drove fine and boosted fine after. What could have caused such a high knock reading?

I noticed the log where you got the knock had a ramp up with the throttle instead of a hit to WOT like the other one. Can you replicate it when going WOT right away, or does it only happen when you ease into it?

Good question, I was thinking that. I can try it tomorrow, I was just scared to get on it much after that, scared the crap out of me with that -2° at WOT, haha.

Could also be the meth, I have it set at 80% TPS to come on, and the way I ramped up the gas, it may have leaned out before the few milliseconds that the meth had to catch up.

Or maybe I need to adjust my tip-in?

OK, tried to get another decent log today, car was running warm with warm intake temps for some reason. It was cutting out at WOT at full boost, with no knock. Which I have never had happen before. I think I am going backwards with this tune. When it was running OK, I was able to replicate the ramp-up knock. I have that attached. I just don't know why my AFR is all over, one pull it lines up perfect, next pull its 12.3:1.

On the pulls I was getting the bad "bucking", I couldn't find them in the log. There was no knock retard during the hesitation. The only thing I could think of is that in that spot, I was running 4° of timing, and I had high water and intake temps, dropping me to around 0° during a high load WOT pull. I have no clue where to go from here. It was only about 80° out too.... something is not right.
