I wanted to have a built 6 bolt but i figured i wont have enough money for it, SO im saying 7 bolt. Anyways in a couple months ill be building but i want some advice. I dont wanna build this and get crankwalked, so first >? is..what can i do to the crank to make it not walk on me?

here is what im planning to do...

Head & block: hot tanked and checked for cracks, and then machined.
bigger cams and adjustable gears, arp head studs, OEM head gasket, 3g lifters, valve springs and retainers, valves, bigger rods, pistons, and crank?

after all this i dont want it to walk so again, what can i do?

thanks.

If you replace the bearings in the bottom end, your crankwalk can be cured so long as things are in decent shape or can be cleaned up. also a new crank may be needed. Look into a full gasket set too.

I had the same concerns for my late model 4G63 (1998) and went with a new Eagle crank and ACL race bearings with split thrust bearings. So far, so good.

I have just finished my overhaul of my engine on my 95 talon with my 7 bolt. Just go by what the book says for torquing and you should be fine with what your parts list includes. I just got new bearings and polished crank. I only have 20 miles on her but she runs mighty fine, wish I didn't live on a dirt road atm so I could drive her a lil more!!
