6bolt Swap Whats Needed?

Ok so i am in the process of buying parts for a 6bolt swap into my 2g eclipse.. I plan on doing this while my 7bolt is still running so i will have time to buy everything i need and do it right. I plan on getting a SBR stage II block and a SBR stage II head. My first question is should i do a 6bolt head or 7bolt head on the 6bolt block and why? Also what other parts will i need to do this conversion other than a transmission since i will be using my current 7bolt tranny.. any help and info would be great! i appreciate it

well you COULD do a search since this topic has been beaten to death but:

2g head actually flows more the 1g head, so 2g head has some performance gains.

If you go with 6bolt block and 2g head you won't need anything special other then 6 bolt flywheel and i would recommend getting 1g TB.

If you go 1g on both you will need 1g cas, 1g intake mani, 1g TB.

The 2g head doesn not flow more than the 1g head unless its ported. Factory to factory the 1g had bigger ports and the 2g has more efficient combustion chambers. You WILL also need the 1g cas either way you go because the 7 bolt has a seperate crank sensor you will be getting rid of and you need the 1g cas to simulate the signal of the 2g crank sensor. You will need the 6 bolt flywheel, make sure its for your car as the fwd and the awd ones are different size. Here is a tech article about the swap.
