I'm having a complete 6bolt put into my 2g right now. Will I need the install kit to make the 14b work or no? I keep reading that for a 2g you need the jpipe, oil feed and return line, and you need that kit if you are putting on a 16g/20g. I just don't know if I need it, considering I have the complete 6bolt motor and just the parts I need from my blown 7bolt are getting swapped. Understandable if I had the 7bolt and a 14b, just not so sure in this scenario.

Any help?

Yeah you only need the kit if you are putting just the 14b on a 2g 7bolt. But since you are swapping the entire 6bolt into your 2g you wont need the kit.

Sorry but this is probally a stupid question to ask but how do you determind 7 o6 bolt? Anyones help will greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Yup if your usinga 7bolt motor then you will need the kit to fit a 14b/16g on. But your fine if your using a 6bolt.

Unless your car has a swapped engine in it, it has a 7bolt. 95+all have 7bolts. You can tell by looking at the oil pan and some other things. The 6bolt is in 90 to early 92 models.

Also, if you reall really wanna know, pull the transfer case off (it easy) and look at the flywheel through the inspection cover and turn it while you count the bolts, six or seven.

You'll still need a j-pipe to connect the 14B to your lower intercooler pipe. Everything else should be no problem. If you have the oil feed and return lines for that 6-bolt, then you won't need any installation kits.
