so ive been a member of dsm tuners for 6 years under the name awd136 but when i returned home from iraq i forgot my password and i dont have the email acounnt that i registered with to retrive my password with. over the years ive only played with 1gs and have had several of them. i recently purchaced a spyder with a junk motor and since i already have a brand new bushur motor that was intended for my 1g im going to go ahead and sell my 1g and build my dream car:D ive been searching tuners and a couple other site and ive found alot of great install instrctions and lists of parts but a few things i couldnt find that i need to know.

with that being said here are my questions:

Will the act clutch originally bought for my 1g gst work with the 2g swap

will i still need the 2g turbo install kit even though im using the 1g motor

and is there any tips or trouble area from personal experince will doing the swap that would be helpful to me any info is better than no info

i know some one will ask so ill list it here

im using the 6 bolt block and head im going the magnusmotorsports 1gina2g camanglesensor harness way

i have and evo III 16g with a header not a manifold

and its a 2600lb act clutch

the clutch is the same on 2gs and 1gs, they might vary by GST and GSX, but if its for a GST you're definitely ok.

you dont need the 2g install kit, but you will need some new gaskets, lines, etc. for when it comes time to do your swap. im assuming you have all the stock components for the 14b turbo system and not just the motor, correct? it comes with new everything to update your turbo system, so its not a terribly bad idea. someone correct me if im wrong, but you could use all the gaskets and nice steel line it comes with as upgrades, and then just sell the J pipe since you already have one, or use the new one and sell the old one.

as far as any problems or advice, there's a pretty good thread on here somewhere that tells you everything you need for the swap, and some things to look out for.

hope this helps

I don't think its worth getting the install kit, just get the new gaskets and lines. I also don't think its worth getting the magnus wire harness, now thats just and opinion, but the wiring really isn't that hard. If you get to that point and your confused just throw up a post or PM me and ill help walk ya through it.

Did i understand correctly that you have a 6 bolt motor already? If so what year and what CAS does it have, if you dont have one yet i would highly recommend getting a 91-92 head because they have the long wire harness that makes life really easy.

also read up http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf that site should have everything ya need to know. their is also a group called 1gina2g on yahoo, those guys are really great and just about everyone their has already done that swap, they really helped me out when i was running into weird problems...

good luck man, welcome home. :thumb:
