hey i think i remember reading this somewhere, but do you need a special front cover when doin a 6bolt swap on a 2g?

Oil Gallerys are different along with provisions for a crank sensor which the 6 bolt doesn't have. Check the RRE method of modifiying the 7 bolt case if you are dead set on using that and keeping the crank sensor. If you have dsmlink it's a no brainer to swap it.

If you're doing the swap I would go with the method that most people seem to use and thats using the 6 bolt timing cover. Also when you are fitting it on you will need to slightly trim the cover where it goes over the drivers side motor mount to get a good fit. Theres a few other small things that need to be done to get it to work. PM for info. if you need it.

He is not talking about the timing belt covers. He is talking about the front case, the aluminum piece that houses the oil pump gears and bolts to the block. Here are the necessary mods to run a 7 bolt front case on a 6 bolt motor. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/2g6boltmotorinstall.htm RRE no longer does 6 bolt swaps this way as you can see it's a big pain in the ass.
