6 bolt nt knock sensor question w/ pic

I have been searching hard about this but I havnt come across a definite answer to my question. I just pulled a 6 bolt longblock from a 90 plymoth laser non turbo. The block has a hole where the knock sensor would go(i think) but it is sort of recessed. Numeruos people say all you have to do is tap this hole and you can screw in the sensor, but it looks like it wouldnt fit snug against it. Has anyone else came across this or does anyone have any input? I guess if that hole doesnt work, I could just use the inspection hole? Thanks

Edit: I forgot to add that this is going on my gsx so its going to be turboed

You can put it in the lower position, Where you circled.

I am using a non turbo block and didn't have the the Knock Sensor, I used that same location.

But, It would be a good thing to do your best to put it in the upper one, It will detect the Knock more easily, which it is more closer to the top piston wall.

Ok, thanks for the reply. When u are saying the upper one, are you talking about the hole in the upper right hand corner of this pic?
