I have this wire that came with the car and the car has a 6 bolt bottom end and a 2g head. This wire looks like it screws into the block and then plugs in somewhere. If someone knows could they tell me. Also I was looking at the RRE rewire kit of the CAS and the Crank sensor. It says to wire it into the Crank sensor Plug. I dont have the crank sensor because i thought the CAS read both ( I have the black top sensor). Could someone help me out here. The guy i bought it off said he had to run DSMLINK because he couldn't get the spark timing right? has anyone heard of this? what makes this happen?

No you don't need a crank sensor. You just wire the 1g cas into the harness for the 2g cam and crank sensors. You are missing a bolt in your oil pump.

Yea i know i just snapped a picture while i put it on and i wanted to show i didnt have a crank sensor. Will i be able to control spark at all because the kid before me told me he could get his to run right because he was unable to control spark ( he said something about grounding the sensor to the ecu).

ooooooooooo! Ok so does that mean i do not need to run a crank sensor? Because the RRE wiring diagram says to wire it to the Crank sensor but I thought i didnt need to run it?

No, that means you need to bolt that into your block and plug it in...

Are your wires already cut for the CAS? I think the harness rre makes is nice because you dont need to splice any wires. Well you may need to splice one since your a 97 I have a 95.

And no you wont need the crank sensor, both plugs will be ran to the CAS for signal.

No, you will have no problem with spark, assuming that the cam angle sensor is wires in properly. The 1g cam sensor acts as a crank sensor also in this application. It's got to sets of triggers on the plate.
