So I decided to start cleaning the engine bay of my 97 GSX that I bought about 6 months ago. I figured I'd shine some things up and then get the car painted later to finish it off. So I pulled the valve cover off and painted. While my newly painted VC was drying I noticed this ugly, dingy, almost rusty CAS. I decided to unbolt the 2 12mm bolts and pull it out ever so gently. I gave it a good shining and installed it without a care. I put the valve cover back on and decided to go for a light run. Only problem was, the car decided to barely run once I pulled out of the driveway. I'm guessing that the valve cover isn't the issue here. Long story short, what the heck did I not do when re-installing the CAS?! I put it back in to where the plug was in the same location as when I took it out. Is there some sort of exact way of lining it up?
It is a 1G CAS by the way. Do I have to get the car timed by a mechanic or is this a fairly simple fix?
