I am considering a 5 spd swap in my 95 TSI AWD, I got some info on whats needed and how it's done. Now I am wondering what everyone else thinks... is it worth it?

I love driving 5 spd that is why I want to convert I am jsut wondering if it is going to be more of a pain in the ass the the final product will be fun. Also how challenging it will be to find everything I need.

Go for it. I swapped my galant and it was a totally different car. I would say other than boosting it the 5 speed swap is the best upgrade i did. If you want some parts i have the pedals and shifter if youre interested. I tried selling them on thegalantcenter.net but nobody is buying it and its just taking up space.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I'm actually gonna start looking for some parts pricing some things out and I'm gonna get back to this thread for a little more help.

I'm currently working on swapping my 420a auto for a 5spd. If you can find a donor car life will be so much easier and so much cheaper. My problem is there are no donor cars around here so I've been piecing the parts together and finding an ECU from the same year is pretty hard. Also the fact that I have a 420a makes alot of parts less available cause there's so many GSTs around here. Remember to sell everything you take off your car and everything left on the donor car too :D can possibly come out even :rocks:

Well put, I was actually thinking about that today I found one in my local paper for 500.00, Not a bad deal in my opinion parts alone would cost me more than that piecing it together.
