550's 16g stock maf??

i have a small 16g... im putting in some 550's tomorrow.

mods are in profile.

i need to crush my bov i know.. or garage mod or whatever.

my question is.. i want to run about 22psi daily.. will my stock 1g maf be ok? it has the lower honey combs removed.

or will i have to convert to a gm maf or 2g maf.

i know i can log it and look at the maf signal but if everyone knows it'll be overrun then ill lower the boost for now.

so will it be overrun at 22psi? tuned with an safc2.

i ran the crap out of the 14b at 20psi and it seemed fine. no knock.

Not the smartest idea.

If you want to stick with the mitsu styled maf, scrap the 2g maf.

Evo maf will be a lot more air flow.


You can get a chip for the car that will compensate thr injectors and maf, and allow the safc to be used as a fine tuning tool and make it much easier for tuning

I would go with a 2g mass, you will hit fuelcut with a 1g hacked mass at 22psi. Do you have a eprom ecu?

well i have a gm maf but its 3.5inches.. i gotta search and see if that'll work with the maft.

if not, ill get a 2g.

1g mas should be fine, but consider running a stock 2g mas with those 550's and you'll hardly have to adjust anything on that safc. Also, you'll have a mas with all honeycombs which makes it a more enjoyable car to daily drive in my opinion.

DSM_Zak, I don't really understand your hate on the 2g mas. They can be had for like 20 bucks and flow way more than enough for a small 16g. You're suggesting a more expensive mas and an eprom ecu and a chip to do the exact same thing really.

ok ill just try it and log my maf reading... even tho i read it'll only log 1606 hertz or something so will i be able to tell on the logger if its out of its range? squiggly lines or somethin haha.

ill keep an eye out for a 2g maf
