50 Trim Turbo?

Yep. That's the big H1C from a 1991.5-1993 INTERCOOLED 5.9 cummins pickup.

In 1994, all cummins pickups came with the WH1C and had the actual groove cut in the inlet webbing making it true MWE. In 1995 the hx35 was introduced.

Wait a minute. Not to thread jack but......I have an older 60-1 from turbonetics, I wanted it rebuilt but they said they didn't carry that center section anymore. So instead i bought a SBR G50. Are you telling me that the center sections are interchangable?
You could have just replaced the CHRA with one of the big-shaft ones. They are still making 60-1 CHRAs (I just bought one 2 months ago). But you right about the shaft size; it looks like they were all upgraded to the big shaft as a standard feature now.

Simply un-bolt the Dodge turbine housing and bolt on a Bullseye turbine housing.
I'm thinking the compressor cover will need to be clocked as well. If I remember, the HX40's come clocked so the oil drain would be facing upward if you were to mount the compressor cover with the outlet facing down. I'm not sure how the HX35/H1C's are.

I'm pretty positive the water pipe will need to be smashed pretty good as well.

But still....relatively easy work to make a killer turbo work on our cars.

Damn you holset owners!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had been talking myself out of buying a holset and you just keep showing up. Make it sound so good. I even stopped reading the holset thread's. Thanks for hooking me back in.

That is one thing that is baffling me. The Cummins guys all say the compressor housing is virtually the same a/r between the hx35 and the big h1c. . . Yet I didn't have to smash my water pipe at all for my big h1c (pics in my gallary). In fact, it just kisses it very lightly when tightened up. I have an evo3 exhaust manifold. But I know of several others with the hx35 and another with an h1c who all have needed to dent the pipe pretty deep.

Yep. Clocking the compressor cover and center cartridge is neccesary. The neat thing about the h1c/wh1c is that the compressor housing is attached via a v-band clamp. Just clock the center cartridge correctly when you install the bep housing, install, then loosen the comressor vband clamp and tweek the outlet any way you like.

It's weird how the whole "denting of the water pipe" effects some owners and not others.

I believe it matters more of which manifold you have than anything else. We put a TD05H 20G on my buddy's 2G a couple years back. At the time he was running an XS Power tubular header- the water pipe had to be dented pretty badly to get the compressor housing to fit. Once the junk XS Power manifold cracked, he bought a brand new EvoIII manifold....the turbo then cleared the water pipe by about 1/2 inch.

Had we used the EvoIII manifold in the first place, there would've been no need to dent the water pipe.
