5 speed vs. automatic

which of the 2 transmissions would be the best based on 1/4 mile times if you had 2 equal cars with the only difference between them is the transmission? the reason im asking is because i have a 91 talon that needs the suspension cradle replace as it cant keep the axle together and i found a laser nt for $1300. now the laser has a rebuilt engine, new belts, etc. with an automatic trans. im debating on fixing my talon which is 5 speed or buying the laser.

Is the laser turbo I'd say to buy the laser. It sounds like a good deal. If it's auto and NA 1/4 mile isn't really going to matter ### you probably won't be going all out in all reality. Auto is much more consistent but 5 speeds are more fun to drive IMO

i am with you, auto never misses if done right will kill a 5 speed, 5 speed is just more fun to drive that all. i seen auto eclipse's that are way faster then my boys gsx.
