5 speed tranny making a lot of noise

yeah for some odd reason my tranny is making a loud noise like a rattling sound and I've notice it only started to do this in cold weather i just had a new clutch put in and when you hold in the clutch the sound goes away but let out and its loud as can be and it does it worse in 1st and 2nd not so bad in 3rd through 5th but it dirves then and i took it back to the tranny place were they put the clutch in which cost me $700 to do and they listened to it and said it was the tranny and wanted to charge more money to fix it but ive put out to much as it is and also my wrecked talon did the same thing the same noise but it would go away after the car warmed up and only did it in the winter as well so it must be a common problem for trannys that has a lot of miles on them.

its comeing from the tranny u do know what that is i would hope any way and its a rattleing sound thats all i can tell you

My throwout bearing makes a bit of noise when its cold. It goes away once it is warmed up or when you press the clutch pedal. It makes it sound like the tranny, but once you get really close, you can hear its the bearing.

What kind of noise is it making. Is it a ticking, whining, knocking, grinding. I would just check the fluid in it and drive it. Sounds like someone is trying to rip you off. Please be more detailed about the noise and i can probably help you out with it.

So let me get this...
You just put a new clutch on it.
The same thing happened to me, squealing and a little bit of a grinding noise after I got a new clutch.
I eventually started to leak tranny fluid
and found out that my Input shaft bearing went out in the transmission
Not an easy or cheap fix

Now im buying a new tranny

yeah it only dose it in cold weather and after they put a clutch in it also did it on my other car every winter but drives fine during summer and i never had to do any tranny work on it b4 it died in a wreck

and were do u put the fuild cause i never had to put fuild in a 5 speed yet maybe this is the problem i hope

and i should had just bought a rebuilt tranny with clutch instead of $700 for them shade tree's workers over chargeing me i found out after i did the work i could had got a rebuit tranny bought and had it installed for $700 total give or take

If the noise is like marbles clanking around, it may be the throw out bearing. If the noise is comin from the trans, and is getting worst it could be your center diff. +1 on the grammer.

I don't know about the transmission.
