McGregor,
I was just wondering if maybe you could be able to point me in the right direction looking for resources to swap a 4g63 evo engine in my 96 spyder gs?
I picked up a trans from a 97 eclipse gst....5 speed manual and a "jdm evo 1-3 engine" w/the yellow 510cc injectors. I didn't get an ecu with it though so I'm certain I need a turbo ecu but not sure whether to get just a 97-99 ecu, or if I have to get an evo ecu as well?
I've looked around some and saw that the engine wiring from 97 to 96 is different but couldn't find out more details... I've also read about just putting a turbo on the 4g64 but I've decided to go with this setup right now and am looking what I have to do to make this work.
as far as I know all the mounts are good and everything will bolt in fine, I'll have to replace the exhaust system. I'm stuck on engine ecu choice, and wiring mods that I'll need. the only numbers I've got off the engine so far are from the front that reads " 4G63" then directly underneath of that says RR3904. on a sticker on the rear of the block says RR3904y9
If you could help me out in any way that would be great...thanks guys
