i can get a pretty good deal on a 6 bolt 4g63t motor brand new with 2.2l displacement and 18g turbo will this swap into the 4g64 mounts that comes in the na spyders any help would be apreciated will it fit the transmission also i dont know much im sorry

Are you sure this is a 2.2? I know of very few people who have done this and this is done with an offset crank. I would double check and make sure this information is correct before you buy on false information.

Not saying it's not possible. Just saying not alot of people do it. Just double check. If so buy! The offset cranks are a pretty penny. :thumb:

There is no such thing as a 4g63 with 2.2L displacement so whoever is selling it to you is lying.

Why lose the 4g64 for less displacement in a 4g63? Its very easy to turbocharge a 4g64 because many of the parts are interchangeable with the 4g63. Check these site out:

Yes there is such a thing as a 2.2 4g63. It requires an offset crank.

An offset crankshaft WILL NOT increase displacement. Moving the crankshaft laterally from the centerline does nothing for stroke.

I believe you are referring to offset grinding of a crankshafts to fit smaller journals. This would require custom rods and grind the cranks shaft a great to achieve 2.2L. I would be very surprised if he found a good deal on a custom motor like that. Also, I wouldnt trust any 4g63 crankshaft that has had that much material removed.

Im just trying to help the guy out  .

LOL, sorry man I should have figured that out by your username. Since you already have all the turbo parts, it may not be a bad deal if the motor is in good shape. Im just suprised that you are willing to lose the displacement... I just went through a lot of hassle to go from a 4g63 to a 2.4 g4cs.

Yes it does require some griding on the crank. However it does not require custom rods. It requires custom pistons. We have ran a similar motor in our race car and a fellow employee here is building one for his car as well. You take a crank and weld even more material to it. You then start the offset grinding process. When done properly they are a very strong motor.
