Bought this car with bent valves. Replaced valves and got it in time. It runs pretty well now, I just get this noise when above idle. The tachometer doesn't work, but turning the steering wheel and causing the power steering to kick in is enough to slightly get the noise. The noise does not change pitch with RPM, just gets louder. Also, it happens all the time when above a certain RPM.

--- As for what I have done already.
Isolated the noise to what I believe is behind the engine towards the firewall.
Ran the car without any accessory belts on to eliminate pully noises.

Balance shaft look good when u don’t the timing? That’s on the back side of the motor.?

Sounds like a heatshield or something loose. Are you sure its from the engine? Check the transmission inspection cover. It's between the trans and engine underneath held on with 3 bolts.

Is this a 420a?
