Rattling noise

Ok so here is what happened. I've had my DSM for 2 weeks. Took it to a DSM meet last week, where I had someone look it over. I was told some of my bushings on the shifter were probably worn. And my crankshaft sensor was installed upside down.

Well the sensor got flipped around the right way. But now I get this ratting noise, it didnt start immediately after it got switched around its been about 3 days. It only happens when the clutch is out. If its pushed in there is no noise. Any ideas?

Just a further note I have a feeling this is going to cost me alot fo time to fix.

does it sound more like a whirling sound (metal to metal) from the tranny area???? if so it is probably the throw out bearing....does it go away after the car is warmed up and you have shifted it a few times????

Only happens in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd. How hard to replace?

well you have to take the tranny off to change it. it's not that bad actually. i had the same problem when i switched my auto gsx to a manual. when it was cold it would make that rattling whirling noise in the tranny area. if you take it off they sell the clutch with pressure plate and throw out bearing as a kit. would be a good time to upgrade the clutch if you are planning on mods. if not autozone sells the kit for 120.00 and they have upgraded it because people kept blowing the clutches up and returning them. does it shift rough???? i drove mine like that for a year before i sold it and never had n e problems just made that annoying noise when it was cold! let me know what u think.

it shifts the same, very smooth.

You bring up another point, it has been getting colder here.
