I work in a garage, and there is a 2000 Eclipse gs with a 4g64 that jumped time. My co-worker decided to put a junkyard motor in the car. My boss told me I can have the old motor, is this compatible with a 1g? If so how big of a deal is the swap? Are there internals available to make it capable of handling boost? I already have a built 4g63 in the car and just ordered a 50 trim from agp. Just wondering if it's worth the time and finances.

Thanks in advance, Rob :dsm:

That's what I am wondering. The motor is mounted in the 4g eclipses backwards, so I don't know if all of the mounts are in the same location. I also noticed that it is a seven bolt motor, but I wasn't sure if the flywheel/clutch/tranny would swap from my car. I know they used the 4g64 in many cars over the years, but I wasn't sure if this was the same variation of it. Also with a turbo the size of the rs49t would the extra .4l of displacement add any hp or would it just help spoolup? Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I wasn't sure where to post.
Thanks Rob :dsm:

4G64 block + crank + 2g pistons + 1g head = stroker

Honestly if your motor is already built id keep your setup, unless your turbo has a huge amount of lag, either way you could always sell me that motor for cheap ;)
