ok, so i read a couple forums on the 4g64, but i havent found out if i would be able to take a 4g64 out of a galant, stratus, or sonata. then take the crank out of that and put that in a 4g63, i happen to have a spare block laying around and im thinking about building it.
 
You should be able to do that. but i think that you would have to check you valve to piston clearance. sure that the valves dont hit. but now that i thought about it. after i typed that i dont know becuase of you motor being a 6bolt.. Sorry but i'm still going to post this because if it dose it i would like to know. and also to tell you that if it dose fix you should still check the vavle to piston clearance.:dsm: :dsm:

There is plenty to be learned when doing a stroker but the basics are that if you are going to use the crank from a 2.4 in your 2.0 than you will need to get pistons for that combination and you need use a 6 bolt 2.4 crank in a 6 bolt 2.0 block and a 7 bolt 2.4 crank in a 7 bolt 2.0 block.

well to check then Valve to piston clearance you will have to do alot of work but its worth it. You well have to put the crank,rods,pistons in the bottom block. the you need like clay/playdo to put on the pistons just a thin layer and make sure it dosent touch your walls...put it on all the pistons...then you what to put have your head together. valves,cams, and cam gears. Then you well need to put your head on the block with the head gasket, touqre (sorry i dont know how to spell that) to the right Spec, Then put the timing belt on and turn the motor with a braker bar {{{slowly}}}. Then take it back apart and look at the clay on the pistons. if there is not marks then your good.. that is the only way i know of!!:dsm::dsm:

When building a stroker 2.3L, you use stroker pistons which have the pin location moved towards the top of the piston 6mm. There should be no valve/piston contact with stroker pistons.

He doesn't have a 6 bolt unless he's swapped engines. The last DSMs with 6 bolts were the 92's.

As Cs4g63 already stated, you must use a 6 bolt crank in a 6 bolt block and a 7 bolt crank in a 7 bolt block. All 7 bolt cranks are interchangable.
