just looking for some information. It is to my understanding that a 1g 4g63 head is almost a direct bolt on to the 2.4 4g64 block with the exception of plugging a couple oil holes that the head does not have. hardware wise I am all set, but the problem comes through when I am looking for a wiring harness that will work. I know I will have to un loom the harness and reroute everything. My question is though, even with the 2.4 Mightymax block, could I still use a standard 1g harness and not have to delve into anything too custom since that is what the head is from? any help is much appreciated. thank you

There's a few versions of the 4g64. There's 6 bolt and 7 bolt. And there's narrow and wide blocks. The narrow 4g64 block(found in 87 galants) are pretty much identical to the 6 bolt 4g63 minus oil squirters. Meaning out side of timing belt and cam gears. Everything used on a 6 bolt 4g63 turbo can be used on that version motor. As far as the harness. It will be based off of the engine management system you will use. Below are pictures of my 4g64 6 bolt block used to build my 2.1 destroker. Hope that helps.

thank you for the info, I am using a 7-bolt wide block for mine. that way it will direct bolt up to my stock conquest/ Starion rwd transmission. I'm looking into getting a used stock wiring harness from a 1g eclipse / talon, that way all of the connectors on the head i believe should plug right in. I really just worry when it comes to the block side like the oil sensor and such. cause it's going to be a full wiring swap as well besides body controls, from the engine to the ecm is all I'm worried about currently
